Neutrogena Healthy Skin CC Cream Review/First Impression

Today I thought I would review another product my mom gave me to review because she wasn’t sure if she liked it or not. The Neutrogena Healthy Skin CC Cream has been advertized on TV A LOT. And I usually go with BB creams, the maybelline dream fresh bb cream specifically, so I wasn’t really sure what was so special about these “CC” creams… so I was excited to try it out!

The first thing I wanted to do was figure out what the difference between BB cream and CC cream was because I actually had no idea and I’m really used to using the maybelline dream BB cream. According to the interwebs, whereas BB cream stands for beauty balm, CC cream stands for colour correcting and the products are meant to correct any redness or discolouration on your face and BB creams will just work solely as a tinted moisturizer.

This Neutrogena Healthy Skin CC Cream claims to even and brighten your skin tone and reduce the look of dark spots, instantly smooth skin and protects your skin with SPF 30. In all honesty, i’m not sure if it’s because, being younger, I don’t really have many dark spots to clear up, and I don’t have that big of a problem with redness, I didn’t notice a difference between the effect of the CC cream in comparison to my usual BB cream.

As for coverage, I actually felt as if this CC cream didn’t have as great of coverage as the BB Cream I use or any foundations of course. So, if you’re looking for a BB or CC cream with decent coverage, I don’t think this is the one for one. Lastly, I didn’t find this product as moisturizing as my other BB cream, which is something I really like about it because I have really dry skin. So, if you have dry skin, I don’t recommend this product to you, but if you don’t have dry skin, it shouldn’t be a problem.

Verdict: Although I was comparing this product a lot to my BB Cream, I thought that was important because it proved that I don’t think this is one of the best tinted moisturizers out there, and there are much better drug store ones such as the maybelline dream fresh BB cream. So, I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone looking for a decent coverage BB or CC Cream that is also moisturizing. However, if you are looking for one with very little coverage and you don’t have a problem with dry skin, you’ll like this product!

That is all for this short little review/first impression! Let me know if any of you have used this product and what you think! As far as foundations and tinted moisturizers go, I think they work different for each person and so this post was just my own personal opinion on this CC cream and how it worked for me! It could actually end up working for you, so give it a try if it sounds like something you’d like!

If you didn’t get a chance to see my last few posts this week, I did

  1. I didn’t know the difference between CC and BB creams either so thanks for telling us! I’m more inclined to give cc cream a shot now that I know it deals with redness. Good review!
