Q&A with Charlotte:

Can you introduce yourself, tell us where you’re based from and what the name of your blog is?
My name is Charlotte Goodayle, Im a 21 year old self confessed lipstick addict based in London. I blog about my personal style over at www.thegoodowl.co.uk

How would you describe your blog?
A mixture of Fun lifestyle posts and fashion all done with an alternative creative flair.

I love your style. How would you describe it?
(Thank you!) An eclectic homage to various eras (The 90’s is a favourite atm) all with a laid back vibe.

I saw on your blog that you actually go to school for womanswear design. Can you tell us a little about your experience there and why you chose to pursue that particular path?
I actually don’t know how I ended up studying design, I grew up being obsessed with the arts but more on the theatrical side, However once I left school I started getting into DIY and had a strong desire to create. After setting up a ebay store selling t-shirts it was suggested that I furthered by skills by going to college and It just took off from there.

Where do you get most of your inspiration while picking out outfits?
Scrolling through Instagram or through bloglovin is a great way of getting inspiration, I like to pick and mix different bits to create something new.

When you’re in a shop, what is it about a piece of clothing that catches your eye and makes you want to try it on?
The fabric! I have an obsession (Must be from being surrounded by it at uni) I have to touch it and see how it moves. There are certain fabrics that I just know I wont get along with mostly synthetic fibers, so i try to steer clear.

Did you always have a “passion for fashion” (that could possibly be the cheesiest thing I’ve ever asked someone in my life)
No definitely not. I was a tomboy at school and used to play football with the boys, so wearing nice clothes wasn’t a priority. But as I got older and bought my first magazine (Bliss! aha)  I really started getting into it, Its been trial and error for a long time to see what sorts of styles suit me, something i’m still unsure of, but I always have some sort of ‘Tomboy’ element to my looks.

Who would you say your biggest role model is for fashion?
It would have to be Love Aesthetics! Although we have different styles I just absolutely adore her looks.

Did you ever think you were going to be so committed to blogging?
Its been something I’ve always wanted to do, I’ve read blogs for a long time and always wanted to get invloved and share my style with other people. So glad I finally have!

Do you have any advice for people wanting to start a blog?
Just do it! Don’t worry about what other people will think or compare yourselfs to others, do it for yourself. Its such a buzz when you work hard on a post and then publish it and dont worry about views. Just enjoy yourself!

I’d like to thank Charlotte again for the awesome answers and taking the time to share them! Make sure to check out her blog ASAP and you can also follow Charlotte on her other social media listed below!
