Fashion Friday, Q&A Series
Hello Beautiful People!

Happy Fashion Friday! Today I’m sharing with you all an exciting interview I had the chance to do with Krista Robertson from the amazing fashion and travel blog, Covering the Bases! I’ve been a long time reader of Krista’s blog and I’m sure some of you have too. Krista is based in NYC and covers everything from outfits and fashion posts, brands she loves, travelling, home decor and she even does youtube videos!

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your blog and where you’re based from!
I’m 23 (although I forget and tell people I’m 22– lost a year there somewhere) and currently live in New York City. NY marks my 5th state I’ve lived in so when people ask where I’m from, I’m not quite sure what to tell them! I was born in Orange County, CA, raised in Dallas, TX, went to high school in the burbs or North Chicago, IL and went to college at the University of Kentucky.

When and why did you first start blogging?
I started blogging summer going into senior year of college and to be honest I started it because I was bored and my friends would always tell me I should start a blog.

When did you first become interested in fashion? What is is about fashion that you love?
I’ve always been interested, as long as I can remember! I love being able to convey different moods or personalities of who I want to be that day with my different outfits.

What are some staple accessories in your wardrobe?
Pearl earrings, jeggings, white shirts and boots (booties, riding boots…)

Who are your biggest fashion inspirations and why?
I personally love DVF because of who she is as a woman. I mean I love her clothes too but I think who she is speaks louder than what she makes. When you put the two together, they are unstoppable.

What are some of your favourite stores to shop at or brands to wear?
I love to shop at Revolve Clothing, Nordstrom, J. Crew and Vineyard Vines. A little bit of everything 🙂

You include your love for baseball within your blog, which I think is great! Are you still involved in the baseball world on top of your fashion and travel blogging?
Yes! I have a full time job working in the social media department at MLB in New York– that’s why I moved there.

What is your favourite thing about travelling? Where are some of your favourite locations? Any future travel plans?
I love to explore and get away. My favorite place from last year was our trip to Nantucket. Outside the states, it’s Dublin. And yes! 2015 has lots of traveling already booked. Grand Cayman for New Years, Hilton Head for a girls weekend, DC, Maine, back to Nantucket (yay!), Atlanta and hopefully lots more.

How do you stay so dedicated to your blog?
I look at it as a place to get away from everything else. It’s my passion project (as my friend would say) while also being a second job. I like to stay busy and it keeps me active.

Any advice for those wanting to start a blog but may be too scared too?
I would try it anyway! Starting a blog isn’t a lifelong sentence, but to really enjoy it you have to be passionate about it. You have to want to do it for you and not for anything else– like money. My mom always told me to work at a job that you would do for free. That has always stuck with me and is some of the best advice I’ve ever gotten!

I’d like to thank Krista again for taking the time to answer some of my questions! If you’ve never read Krista’s blog before, I recommend you head over there ASAP!
